Blue Valley North opened in August 1986 with approximately 850 students. The school has been recognized for excellence as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education and as a Partner School by the Kansas Foundation for Partnership in Education. The Kansas State High School Activities Association advocates principles and sponsors services which assure that the state's middle level and high school students gain a balanced preparation for life, work, and post-secondary education. The Blue Valley North High School community believes community service is an important component of a student’s educational responsibility. A student benefits from activities that help those in need, benefit those less fortunate, and promote the general welfare of our society. This service takes students beyond the perimeters of their everyday social, cultural and economic circles.
