High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
 
Spruce Creek is a modern comprehensive high school. It was founded in 1975, the school is centrally located in the midst of a family neighborhood, yet is also near an interstate. Due to its location and facilities, the school is often in demand as an ideal conference or convention site. The beautifully landscaped campus includes a main building, twenty eight portable classrooms, an extensive sports area, a sports stadium, agriculture facility and several parking and recreational areas.
 
Spruce Creek variety of academic programs to athletics and other co-curricular and extra curricular activities, everything is designed to meet diverse student needs. Spruce Creek High School is a comprehensive high school of approximately 2,800 students that is arguably the district's flagship school for academic performance. The school's academic success is deep and broad reaching students of all interests and abilities.
 
While their curriculum offerings are rich, from IB, International baccalaureate and AP, Advance placement programs to the Academy of Finance to reading programs for struggling readers, they still have identified needs.
 
Spruce Creek works to implement and maintain a rigorous and relevant curriculum for all students, while at the same time ensuring that students are treated as valued individuals with many interests and needs. This means that the school works to strike a mutually supportive balance between the classroom, co and extra curricular activities and civic involvement. With more than 30 athletic teams and 40 clubs, Creek offers every student a chance to participate in an area of interest outside the classroom.

The mission of the Spruce Creek is to provide each student with an equal opportunity to succeed by promoting intellectual growth, creativity, self-discipline, cultural and linguistic sensitivity, democratic responsibility, economic competence and physical and mental health so that each student can achieve his or her maximum potential.
