Southeast High School is located in Bradenton, Florida near the Tropicana Products factory, is a public high school in Manatee County. The school mascot is the Seminole and the school colors are blue and orange, while its secondary colors are gray and white. It was founded in the 1950s and was originally an all-girls school. The current principal is Michael Horne. Southeast High School consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
 
The school also participates in sports such as football, boys and girl’s basketball, baseball, soccer, weightlifting, volleyball, track, golf, and swimming. The school's band is also very well recognized, bringing home superior ratings in the Wind Ensemble and Jazz band, as well as many superiors from state solo. The school also has a jazz combo which can be found gigging throughout downtown Bradenton. Enrollment is about 1,700 students.
 
They have an active and fully accredited International Baccalaureate, IB program, which is a worldwide-recognized institute known for its advanced classes. The program at Southeast now serves more than 100 students yearly and offers courses in English, Foreign Language, ITGS, Information Technology in a Global Society, Mathematics, Biology, History and Theory of Knowledge.
 
Southeast's cross-town rival, Manatee High School, produced football stars Tommie Frazier and Tyrone Williams. 1985 team faced Emmitt Smith. 1993 team was undefeated and was quarterbacked by John Reeves with Peter Warrick as a receiver. 1994 team was quarterbacked by Peter Warrick who faced Daunte Culpepper in the state championship game. 1998 team was quarterbacked by Adrian McPherson.
 
The 1995 NCAA, National Collegiate Athletic Association football championship between Nebraska and Florida each had players from Bradenton. Nebraska had Leslie Dennis, Tyrone Williams, Tommie Frazier and Shevin Wiggins. Florida had Robby Stevenson, Dock Pollard, Reggie Green, and Reggie Davis. Southeast High School offers a wide selection of courses with opportunities for students to take challenging programs of study.
 
In May 2006 Newsweek placed Southeast at number 314 of the 320 top high schools in the country. This school was given a grade of C by the Florida Department of Education in 2005 to 2006.

The wide range of curriculum choices allows students to explore areas of interest and experience academic success. Their goal is to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills without losing sight of the special needs of the middle school child.
