San Ramon Valley
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
San Ramon Valley High School, SRVHS is located in Danville, California, has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Since 1910, SRVHS has been committed to providing an education that fosters the intellectual, physical, and social development of each student.
Their strong tradition of excellence emanates from their dedicated staff, responsible students, committed parents, and active community partners who contribute to the school’s and students’ successes. Through a comprehensive system of support programs, they ensure that all students are connected to the school. This is accomplished through a wide array of both academic and extra and co-curricular programs. Joseph A. Ianora is the Principal of the school.
The fundamental purpose and goals of San Ramon Valley Athletic Department mirror the purpose and goals of the school in general. Specifically, San Ramon Valley High School recognizes that its interscholastic athletic program is an integral part of the total education program. It is their philosophy to provide a positive atmosphere of sportsmanship and learning, both at practice sessions, and at interscholastic events, and at the same time provide a healthy competitive experience for their students.
Their vision is to create a community, in a safe and educationally rich environment that prepares each of their students to live a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life in the global and technological world of the 21st century. To that end, they are committed to foster the intellectual, physical and social development of each student to teach all students how to learn so that intellectual growth may continue throughout life and to model tolerance and respect for self and others in order to promote teamwork and community effort in their multi-cultural society. And to help students link learning to personal visions and goals for self and for society so that they may help to shape the world in which they live.
