Olentangy
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Olentangy is a top high school situated in the United States. Olentangy High School opened in 1990 on Lewis Center Road for students in grades 9th to 12th. Since 1990 the district has experienced significant enrollment growth and has opened twelve elementary schools, a second high school, Olentangy Liberty High School, and a third middle school. The school offers a wide array of standard courses in secondary education, including a number of classes in music, visual arts and theater. The Advanced placement courses in language, science, mathematics and social studies are also available. The school has met Ohio and federal standards for student achievement for each of the last three years. Current enrollment is approximately 1,700 with a student teacher ratio. The school principal is Mindy Farry, and one of the school's most notable alumni is Gary LeVox.
The athletics programs include baseball, basketball, men's, basketball, women's, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, men's and women's, tennis, men's and women's, track, volleyball, wrestling. Olentangy is a dynamic school that promotes academic achievement, high expectations, respect, unity, and safety. Olentangy strives to develop specific goals and high academic standards, using communication and commitment within a shared learning environment.
The mission of Olentangy School is to offer an environment in which all students will acquire the necessary skills to become responsible thinkers who appreciate diversity and are productive citizens in their community.
