Marshall Fundamental
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Marshal Fundamental Secondary School was originally constructed in 1973 and recently completed several years of construction, renovation and modernization of all its facilities. Currently, Marshal Fundamental Secondary School is comprised of 75 classrooms, a library, two computer labs, a staff room, two multi-purpose rooms and cafeterias, one gym, and multiple athletic fields. At the time of this publication 100 percent of the school’s restrooms were in working condition. Steven Miller is the Principal of the school.
Marshall Fundamental Secondary School provides a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and volunteers. A team of three full-time custodians ensure classrooms, restrooms, and campus grounds are kept clean and safe.
Marshall Fundamental Secondary School offers college-bound students many opportunities to get a head start on their future. Students are encouraged to take the required courses if they plan to attend a four-year university. All students must pass each course with a grade no lower than a ‘C’ per semester. In addition, Marshall Fundamental Secondary School offers students a variety of Advanced Placement, AP classes.
Marshall was one of three schools in the nation to receive a College Board Inspiration Award in 2003. This prestigious award is given by the College Board in recognition of a school's success in broadening students' access to college.
Marshall Fundamental Secondary School provides each of their students with fulfilling and challenging opportunities which will enable them to meet their personal academic goals and long- range future plans. Their outstanding teachers and dedicated staff provide instruction and support to ensure each student's success. They are particularly proud of their large and vibrant Advanced Placement Program, Computer Careers Academy and Education Careers Academy. They welcome parental involvement, as we continue their commitment to academic excellence.
Marshall rated in the top 4 percent of public high schools nationally, and ranked 113 of the 739 schools billed as the best high schools in America. Marshall is determined to continue to raise the bar of excellence in education for all of its students.
