Andover
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Andover High School is located in Shawsheen Road Andover, Massachusetts. Andover High School has been named as one of twelve schools in Massachusetts that have made exceptional academic progress by the Massachusetts Department of Education. The school has various departments such as mathematics, fine arts, social studies, health, physical education, world language and many more. Also the school has several clubs such as Amigos Unidos, Amnesty International, Andover martial arts club, anime club, art club, badminton, chess, community service coordinator, dance club, dance studio and many more.
Andover High School community will have opportunities to explore and understand diverse subjects, which will foster an admiration and passion for lifelong learning. The Andover High School community will be encouraged to take acceptable risks in which success or failure will not be used as a determination of self worth.
As part of a statewide initiative to highlight exceptional progress to raise educational standards in the public schools, Mass Insight an independent not for profit organization focused on improving achievement in Massachusetts' public schools has named 11 public schools, one of which is Andover High School. The mission of Andover High School is to create an environment in which each student has the chance to use his or her mind well to become individually responsible for his or her academic, social and civic development and physical well-being.
