Northwest, Germantown
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Northwest is a top high school situated in the United States. Northwest High School is a public high school in Germantown, Maryland. Northwest is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools. As of 2006, its enrollment is over 2,000 students. It opened in 1998 as the second high school in Germantown, the first being Seneca Valley High School. The school also serves small sections of the city of Gaithersburg. Its school mascot is the Jaguar and, since its opening, it has developed an athletic rivalry, especially in football, with Seneca Valley High School, is a twelve-time state champion in high school football. The school colors are black, silver, and white.
They focus on training students for particular careers and then placing them in successful careers after graduation. They have a devoted team of staff and instructors ready and willing to help you from enrollment to 10 to 12 grades.
The mission of Northwest High School is to educate their students so that they demonstrate performance and skill levels commensurate with a technologically changing society, that they reach their potential for creativity and life-long learning, and that they enter the global community as productive, contributing members. They will accomplish all of this in a spirit of respect and partnership, with open communication between parents, students, staff and community.
