Ocean View
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Ocean View High School located in Huntington Beach, California. The principal of the school is Karen Gilden and its vice principal supervision is James Reed. Ocean View Business Academy, attracts students whose career plans include the business world. The AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination. program bolsters student achievement in all subject areas by taking aim at preparing students to meet the demands of college. Connections, an after school programs available to any student, piques interest through dance, art, outdoor exploration, science, learning to be a DJ, or having a place to just sit and talk with a friend.
Ocean View provides a technologically enhanced setting for high academic standards and expectations in which teachers use a variety of effective instructional strategies including cooperative learning, inquiry, direct instruction, and discovery learning. Parent surveys over the last six years consistently indicate a 90 percent satisfaction rate with Ocean View High School. Seniors receive awards, grants, and scholarships in excess of 2 million dollar, select higher education venues from among the countries top universities, and pursue successful lives as a direct result of accomplishing the mission of a school.
The school has different types of sports the boys sports includes Badminton Baseball, Basketball, Boys' Volleyball, Cross Country, Football. Girl's Sports includes Badminton, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Girl's Volleyball and Golf. Their mission is to recommend appropriate standards for student dress pursuant to Board policy. The Vision of Ocean View High School student attire will be neat, clean and promote pride and success and will contribute to a safe environment for staff, students and community.
