MCHS, Mount Carmel is a top high school situated in the United States. Mount Carmel High School, a California Distinguished High School in 2005, is located in Rancho Penasquitos, a community of San Diego, California. Mount Carmel High School was built in 1974. The school belongs to the Poway Unified School District and its mascot is the Sundevil.
Mount Carmel set a record with the largest high school enrollment in California at the time, with over 3,500 students. The current principal is Tom McCoy. The school's marching and concert bands are led by Garry McPherson and assistant Danielle Bruce. Mount Carmel competes in the Palomar League against Poway High School, Rancho Bernardo High School, Westview High School, Torrey Pines High School, and La Costa Canyon High School.

The mission of the Mount Carmel is to provide each student with an equal opportunity to succeed by promoting intellectual growth, creativity, self-discipline, cultural and linguistic sensitivity, democratic responsibility, economic competence and physical and mental health so that each student can achieve his or her maximum potential.
