Mills High School
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. The school used to run the traditional six period days, but for the 2006 to 07 school year, the school runs under a seven period day. The only exception to this schedule is during special events, like Star and AP, Advance Placement testing, where the school schedule will be all jumbled up. Each course has a value of five credits. A total of 220 credits are required for graduation. Grading is on a 4.400 scale weighted. Weighted GPA, Grade point average is based on University of California approved A to G high school courses only. Grade point average and class rank are computed in September, February, and June.
The mission of Mills High School is to challenge students to maximize their potential as learners, achievers, and productive world citizens. School will offer for all Students rigorous standards based curricula in preparation for advanced educational opportunities, career paths to provide a school to career with employment and higher education, the knowledge and skill necessary to attain optimal health and physical fitness and to maintain both throughout their lives.
