Catalina Foothills is a top high school situated in the United States. It was founded in 1992. Catalina Foothills High School is a public high school, located in Tucson, Arizona, USA. Mr. Wagner Van Vlack is the principal of the school. Foothills now serve approximately 1850 students in grades nine through twelve. The school mascot is the falcon and the school colors are blue and silver. Joan Marrs is the Director of the school.
 
The construction began in 1991 on a site centrally located in the district. The Catalina Foothills School Board had acquired the site nearly 50 years earlier. The school opened to the ninth grade in 1992 when classes met at a district middle school. In 1993 campus was opened to ninth and tenth graders, and the first graduating class of Foothills High walked in late spring 1996.
 
Catalina Foothills is accredited by the North Central Association. Catalina Foothills is regarded as one of the highest performing academic institutions in Arizona. In 2005, Catalina Foothills students scored the highest of any comprehensive high school in Arizona on the Terra Nova standardized exam. Catalina Foothills students averaged in the 80th percentile nationally. Catalina Foothills do offer different sports and have won a lot of awards. Among them are the girls cross country team which won the 2005 Arizona State Championship Race, as well as individual champion honors, the boys cross country team which won the 2006 Arizona State Championship Race. Kate Ewy is the president of the school board.
 
Catalina Foothills  well known awards include the excelling school by the State Department of Education, the H.A. Hendrickson Overall Excellence Award for the most outstanding activities and athletics program among Arizona 4A schools in 2002, 2003 and 2004, the Tony Komadina Award for best women's athletic program for the year 2004. Their professional development system aims to expand the culture of learning in CFSD, Catalina Foothills School District to provide a program that is sustainable over time and to include the participation of all employees within their CFSD learning community.
 
The mission of the Catalina Foothills School District is to guarantee that each student achieves academic and personal excellence, becomes a lifelong learner and is a responsible citizen of the world, by engaging all students in meaningful programs which meet the highest educational and ethical standards within a caring, collaborative learning community.
