Carmel
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district. CHS, Carmel High is a school of 750 students and 50 plus faculty members, situated just outside of the city of Carmel, California. Built in 1940, CHS is known for its lovely view of the Santa Lucia Mountains with a peek of Point Lobos and the Pacific Ocean. It shares a cross town rivalry with Pacific Grove High School, where every year the two teams battle for a bronze shoe during the shoe game. The school's mascot is the majestic Padre and pays homage to the peninsula's history with the Spanish missionaries. The Carmel High School library has about 16,000 volumes and is equipped with wireless communication. As of 2005, the school principal is Mr. Karl Pallastrini. Their department includes English, foreign language, social studies, mathematics, science, physical education, administration, visual performing arts. Their athletics includes boys and girls basketball and girl's soccer.
They focus on training students for particular careers and then placing them in successful careers after graduation. They have a devoted team of staff and instructors ready and willing to help their students from enrollment to 10 to 12 grades. It is devoted to the education and individual improvement of every candidate. The school attempts to be aware and responsive in its program offerings in order to mirror the requirements of the changing world.
