High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
 
Little Rock Central High School is a secondary school in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. Little Rock Central was established in November 6, 1998. Central High School was the site of a major event during the American Civil Rights Movement. It is located at the intersection of Daisy Bates Street and Park Street. Central High School, which covers grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Little Rock School District. The current principal of the school is Nancy Rousseau, who became principal in 2002.
 
Little Rock Central High School was listed on the national register of historic places on August 19, 1977, and was designated a national historic landmark on May 20, 1982. In 2005, the mascot took on a new form, unveiled as a black tiger statue prowling the main hallway. It often has the most national merit finalists and national achievement winners in Arkansas. In addition, Central has had 55 Stephens' Award winners for outstanding academic achievement. Central high school also has the most successful policy debate program in the state, winning the state championship 10 out of the past 11 years.
 
The Little Rock Central Tigers have a very strong athletic tradition with numerous state championships and individual and team records include Boys Basketball, Boys Golf, and Girls Tennis etc. In 2003 and 2004 Central was the back-to-back Class football champion with a record of 27-1. Coach Bernie Cox, who has won seven state championships while with the team, led them. The Arkansas Activities Association's double dose of sanctions included Central forfeiting 14 victories in which it used an ineligible player. It is a part of the High School National Ad Network.

Little Rock Central High School, known for its best teaching skills and personnel attention towards every individual that leads to overall development of a student is one of the best schools in United States.
