High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11 and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.

Inglemoor High School is a public high school located in Kenmore, Washington. It is one of the largest high schools in the state of Washington, although not nearly as expansive as Timbercrest Junior High School in Woodinville. Inglemoor has an average of 23.4 students per teacher. Its mascot is the Vikings and the student newspaper is called Nordic news.

The students at Inglemoor have a reading proficiency of 88.7 percent and a math proficiency of 75.2 percent. Math scores have steadily risen in the past four years and reading scores have made a comeback. Inglemoor students consistently score higher than the average district and state student. As for demographics, 76.7 percent of Inglemoor students are White or Caucasian, 14.9 percent are Asian or Pacific Islander, 4.7 percent are Hispanic, 2.5 percent are Black and 1.2 percent are American Indian or Alaskan Native.

The high school is notable for its International Baccalaureate, IB program. All seventeen students who had attempted the full IB Diploma in 2004 succeeded in earning it. It has consistently received high marks in standardized tests and features many fine arts classes. The school offers IB French, German, Japanese, Spanish language courses and introduced IB Mandarin Ab Intitio. Recent events included freak dancing during the 2006 Homecoming dance resulted in cancelling of the two Tolo dances and possible banning of dancing at the Prom, which was not cancelled.

Along with the rest of the Northshore school district, parents of Inglemoor students are now able to access their child's grades online, though the system is still in beta testing mode. The mission of Inglemoor High School is to provide their students equal opportunities to grow along with all round development. It helps the students to understand their true potential and helps them to acquire knowledge in a unique way resulting in the development of values which are essential for future success.
