Lake Brantley High School established in 1972. Lake Brantley High School, LBHS is located in Altamonte Springs, Florida, a suburban community approximately 13 miles north of Orlando, Florida, USA. It is a public high school in Seminole County, Florida. The school, which opened in 1972, ranked 79th on Newsweek magazine's 2005 list of the top 100 high schools in the United States. Mary Williams is the Principal of the school.
 
In 1969 the School Board of Seminole County, Florida determined that because of projected population growth, three new schools would need to be built in the southern part of the county. The new school design was thoroughly traditional, consisting of many different buildings instead of the old monolithic structure. Lake Brantley has excelled in most athletics throughout the county, often winning district and state level competitions. They also have an improved school atmosphere through the use of the Academic Housing Concept and a distinguished faculty that includes National Board Certified teachers as well as members with masters and doctorate degrees.
 
Lake Brantley High School performs over 1600 Advanced Placement, AP tests administered in 2003. In the school 821 students scored 3 or higher on the 2003 AP tests. As well as they modified block scheduling that allows students to excel in core academic courses as well as electives. Lake Brantley High School places foremost each student's learning in a superior educational community, which works cooperatively to instill a commitment to excellence through intensive self-development and respect for others. LBHS has a comprehensive curriculum consisting of over 318 courses. Instructional programs are offered in the following areas, general, vocational, exceptional education, honors, gifted, advanced placement, and tech prep with Seminole Community College.

The mission of Lake Brantley High School is to guarantee that each student continues to realize his or her potential and to control destiny while creating a better society through a learning environment characterized by facilitative teaching, continuous individual progress, through infusion of advanced technology and the full partnership of community, family, and business. Julie DelRusso won the award of the teacher of the year.
