Irvine
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Irvine High School is a public college preparatory school, is part of the Irvine Unified School district and is located in Irvine, California. Irvine High School Principal is Gail Richards. The school was established in 1976 and school dress code colors are blue and green.
Irvine High School opened its doors in 1976. It is one of four comprehensive high schools in the Irvine Unified School District and supports a population of around 1,825 students in grades 9 to 12. In 2000 and again in 2006, the Accrediting Commission for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges awarded Irvine High a full six-year term of accreditation. The California State Board of Education named Irvine High School a California Distinguished School, and the U.S. department of education gave Irvine high the highest award for excellence in education.
The mission of Irvine High School is to challenge students to maximize their potential as learners, achievers, and productive world citizens. School will offer for all Students rigorous standards based curricula in preparation for advanced educational opportunities, career paths to provide a school to career with employment and higher education, the knowledge and skill necessary to attain optimal health and physical fitness and to maintain both throughout their lives.
