Gabrielino

GHS, Gabrielino High School is a public high school located on San Gabriel Boulevard in San Gabriel, California, serving grades 9 to12. It was established in 1994, and is one of two high schools in the San Gabriel Unified School District. Gabrielino High School is a California distinguished School, and is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The high school was named in 1993, at which voters of San Gabriel approved Gabrielino. The name Gabrielino, originally spelled Gabrilenos, came into usage in 1876, and described the Indians who lived in the Los Angeles Basin prior to Spanish colonization.
The school has the third largest speech and debate team in the United States registered with the National Forensic League, and has been league champions 9 years in a row. Gabrielino High School's architecture is distinct in that it is built using cosmopolitan trends and styles. The school's exterior uses bold colors, including shades of orange, red, purple, and yellow in its exterior.
The mission of Gabrielino High School is to challenge students to maximize their potential as learners, achievers, and productive world citizens. School will offer for all Students rigorous standards-based curricula in preparation for advanced educational opportunities, career paths to provide a school to career with employment and higher education, the knowledge and skill necessary to attain optimal health and physical fitness and to maintain both throughout their lives.
