High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.

Bolsa Grande High School is a high school in Garden Grove, California and is a member of the Garden Grove Unified School District. It has located Westminister Blvd., California. The name of the Principal is Denise Jay and Vice Principal is Ron Zayjec, Renee Perez. The school has dress Colors Red and Blue. In 2005 the school has Enrollment 1,596.

About Athletics Bolsa Grande’s sports teams are known as the Matadors, and compete in the Garden Grove League of the California Interscholastic federation's southern section with five other GGUSD schools. The Matador football team won the CIF Central Division championship in 1986, but has struggled since then. They have not made the playoffs since 1987, and hold the Orange County record for most consecutive losses, losing 99 straight games from 1999 to 2004. The streak was broken when Bolsa defeated their rival La Quinta High School in the final game of the 2003 season. As of mid-October 2006, the Matador football team is 3 to 4, marking the greatest winning streak to befall Bolsa Grande in over a decade.

Bolsa Grande has 61 permanent classrooms in use on the campus. It is also home to one of only two on-campus football stadiums in the GGUSD the other is at Garden Grove High School. All seven high schools in the district share these two stadiums during football season. Issa Awad was the leading tackler at the corner back position and Carl De La Riva was the leading rusher and Juan Alcazar was the leading Receiver.

The mission of Bolsa Grande High School for the administration, faculty, staff, students, and community is to promote academic excellence by providing opportunities and instruction through which all students can become proficient in literacy and math.
