Rapid City

Rapid City is a city in Pennington County, South Dakota, USA. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 62,626, and a 2005 estimate of 81,000. Rapid City is the hub of the Black Hills and the primary city in a metro of about 150,000. It is the county seat of Pennington County and the second largest city in South Dakota after Sioux Falls with an estimated 150,000. Rapid City is also the principal city of and is included in the Rapid City, South Dakota Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rapid City supplies its residents with ample parks and recreation making Rapid City one of the healthiest places to live in the United States. The Bike Path provides family fun and a rigorous ride for beginners to advanced riders.
Attractions in the city are the Journey Museum, Dahl Fine Arts Center, Prairie Edge, Rading Post, Heritage Festival, Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Black Hills Playhouse, Storybook Theater. South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, The Journey Museum and Gardens, Dinosaur Park, The Rushmore Waterslide Park, The Tower On the Hill, Art Alley, Berlin Wall Exhibit, Pirate's Cove, Hart Ranch, and Storybook Island.
