Winston-Salem is a municipality in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. In 2004, the population of the city was 203,259. It is the county seat of Forsyth County, North Carolina, and the fourth-largest city in the state. Winston-Salem is a well-known municipality in the Piedmont Triad region and is home to the tallest office building in the region, the Wachovia Center.

Winston-Salem also has a number of universities, including Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, North Carolina School of the Arts, Salem College.
