Weirton
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia. Weirton is a municipality located in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. West Virginia is a state of the United States in the Appalachia region. Most of the city is in Hancock County, with the remainder in Brooke County. In 2000, the population of the city was 20,411 and an area of 49.9 square kilometers. It is part of the Weirton-Steubenville metropolitan statistical area. Weirton has attracted the attention of Hollywood filmmakers on at least two occasions. Weirton was one of several Ohio Valley towns that served as film locations for the acclaimed 1978 film, The Deer Hunter. Weirton, West Virginia is one of only two places in the country where a state is only one city wide. United States is a popular travel destination for visitors and globe trotters from all over the world who appreciate its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, various local cuisine, hospitality and safety.
