Vernal
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
Vernal is a city in Uintah County, Utah, United States. The population was 7,714 at the 2000 census.and by 2004 had been estimated at 7,939. It is the county seat of Uintah CountyGR6. The city's Vernal-Uintah County Airport has scheduled air service to Salt Lake City subsidized under the Essential Air Service program.
Vernal is located on the northern edge of the Colorado Plateau and south of Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area on the Utah-Wyoming state line. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.9 square kilometers and rest is all land. Vernal is the largest city in the United States without a railway. One exsisted in the past. There is still a rail way aproximately 60 miles away from city limits.
In the city the population was spread out with 32.3 percent under the, 13.0 percent from 18 to 24, 24.8 percent from 25 to 44, 17.6 percent from 45 to 64, and 12.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 28 years. For every 100 females there were 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.1 males.
The city’s Dinosaur National Monument is a U.S. National Monument located on the southeast flank of the Uinta Mountains on the border between the American states of Colorado and Utah at the confluence of the Green and Yampa Rivers. Other attraction is the Ouray National Wildlife Refuge, a wildlife refuge in northeastern Uintah County, Utah, part of the National Wildlife Refuge system.
Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Vernal enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
