The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.

Tucson is a city and the seat of Pima County, Arizona, United States, located 118 miles southeast of Phoenix. As of July 1, 2005, a Census Bureau estimate put the city's population at 515,526 and the metropolitan population at 931,210. Tucson was probably first visited by Paleo-Indians, known to have been in southern Arizona by about 12,000 years ago. Recent archaeological excavations near the Santa Cruz River have located a village site dating from 4,000 years ago.

Tucson is located at the United States Census Bureau. The city has a total area of 505.3 square kilometers. 504.2 square kilometers of it is land and 1.1 square kilometers of it is water. In the inner-city, the population has 24.6 percent under the age of 18, 13.8 percent from 18 to 24, 30.5 percent from 25 to 44, 19.2 percent from 45 to 64, and 11.9 percent who were 65 years of age or older.

Tucson follows the weak mayor model of municipal government. Much of Tucson's economic development has been centered around the development of the University of Arizona, which is currently the second largest employer in the city. Tucson is a popular winter haven for cyclists, and is one of only eight cities in the U.S. to receive a gold rating or higher for friendliness to cycling from the League of American Bicyclists. The city remains largely dependent on automobiles for transportation. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Tucson enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
