It is part of the Billings, Montana metropolitan statistical area. The population was 575 inhabitants at the 2000 census. Joliet is located at to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 square kilometers. As of the census of 2000, there were 575 people, 258 households, and 170 families residing in the town. The population density was 765.5 per square kilometers. In the town the population was spread out with 23.1 percent under the age of 18, 6.1 percent from 18 to 24, 22.1 percent from 25 to 44, 26.8 percent from 45 to 64, and 21.9 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 93.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.3 males.
