The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
Saint Paul is the capital and the second most populous city of the state of Minnesota in the Midwestern portion of the United States and is the county seat of Ramsey County. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 287,151 inhabitants, although that number had decreased to 276,963 inhabitants in the 2004 Census estimates.
In discovered history of city about 2000 years ago the Hopewell culture Native Americans lived in the vicinity, burying their dead in mounds, now located in Indian Mounds Park. Saint Paul is located at the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 145.5 square kilometers. The 136.7 square kilometers of it is land and 8.8 square kilometers of it 6.07 percent is water. The Mississippi River runs through the city, and forms a municipal boundary on the city's west, southwest and southeast sides.
In the city the population was spread out with 27.1 percent under the age of 18, 12.5 percent from 18 to 24, 32.0 percent from 25 to 44, 18.0 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.5 males.
Saint Paul experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in United States.
