Hoover
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
Hoover is a municipality in Jefferson and Shelby counties in middle central Alabama, in the United States. In 2005, the population of the city was 67,469 and an area of 113.1 square kilometers. Hoover is now one of the three primary cities in the Birmingham-Hoover-Cullman Combined Statistical Area, consisting of the Birmingham-Hoover metropolitan statistical area and the Cullman micropolitan area.
In the city the population was spread out with 24.8 percent under the age of 18, 7.9 percent from 18 to 24, 32.6 percent from 25 to 44, 23.8 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.9 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.5 males. Hoover has ten elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools, Spain Park High School and Hoover High School.
