St. Cloud
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
St. Cloud is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and is a major place in the state's central region. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 59,107 inhabitants. It is the county seat of Stearns County. Although mainly located in Stearns County, the city extends into Benton County and Sherburne County. It is the main city of a small metropolitan area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 80.1 square kilometers. The 78.1 square kilometers of it is land and 2.0 square kilometers of it 2.62 percent is water. In the city the population was spread out with 20.8 percent under the age of 18, 24.1 percent from 18 to 24, 27.6 percent from 25 to 44, 17.3 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 101.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.5 males.
The sites of interest in the city are Cathedral of Saint Mary, Great River Regional Library, Quarry Park, Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center, Stearns County History Museum, St. Cloud Civic Center, St. Cloud Regional Airport, St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical College.
St. Cloud experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in United States.
