Palo Alto
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia. Palo Alto is a city in Santa Clara County, in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, USA, named for a tree called El Palo Alto. The city is located at the northern end of Silicon Valley, and is home to Stanford University and several successful high technology companies, such as Hewlett Packard and Xerox. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 58,598 inhabitants. It is in the south eastern section of the San Francisco Peninsula. It is bordered to the west by Menlo Park, to the north by East Palo Alto, and to the east by Mountain View and Los Altos. The city has a total area of 66.4 square kilometers. The points of interest include Palo Alto Arastradero Preserve, Arizona Cactus Garden, Cantor Arts Center, and Palo Alto Art Center. Palo Alto experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in United States.
