South Burlington
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
South Burlington is a city in Chittenden County, Vermont, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 15,814 inhabitants. It is composed of multiple sets of suburban neighborhoods and a commercial center, which the residents are slowly converting to a downtown. The city's biggest draw is its excellent public schools, with correspondingly high taxes. It also has significant lakefront property, including the public park and beach, Red Rocks.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 76.7 square kilometers. The 43.1 square kilometers of it is land and 33.6 square kilometers of it 43.82 percent is water. In the city the population was spread out with 21.6 percent under the age of 18, 12.5 percent from 18 to 24, 30.8 percent from 25 to 44, 22.0 percent from 45 to 64, and 13.1 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 88.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.2 males.
South Burlington experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in United States.
