Galesburg

Galesburg is a city in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,988 at the 2000 census.
Galesburg is on the north side of the Kalamazoo River on the boundary between Comstock Charter Township on the west and Charleston Township on the east, but is politically independent of both. The city is situated on M-96 and is just north of I-94. Kalamazoo is about ten miles to the west and Battle Creek is about ten miles to the east.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.7 square kilometers. In the city the population was spread out with 27.3 percent under the age of 18, 11.0 percent from 18 to 24, 30.4 percent from 25 to 44, 18.6 percent from 45 to 64, and 12.7 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.5 males.
