Ocala
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia. Ocala is a municipality in Marion County, Florida, United States. In 2004, the population of the city was 48,901 and an area of 100.1 square kilometers. It is the county seat of Marion County. Ocala was established in 1846 near the site of Fort King, a military outpost of the Seminole Wars. The surrounding farms are famous for their thoroughbred horses, in terrain similar to Kentucky bluegrass. Ocala is also known for nearby Silver Springs, Florida, site of one of the largest artesian spring formation in the world and one of the earliest tourist attractions in Florida. Ocala has relatively mild weather year-round. In the city the population was spread out with 23.2 percent under the age of 18, 9.3 percent from 18 to 24, 26.2 percent from 25 to 44, 20.9 percent from 45 to 64, and 20.4 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 89.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.5 males. Ocala is the kind of town you daydream about. It is an attractive city with natural beauty and historical places, while traveling in United States.
