New Haven
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia. New Haven is the second biggest city in Connecticut, after Bridgeport. It is in New Haven County, on New Haven Harbor, on the northern coast of Long Island Sound. New Haven was incorporated as a city in 1784. In 2005, the population of the city was 124,791 and an area of 52.4 square kilometers. The city is home to three rivers, the West, Mill, and Quinnipiac, named in order from west to east. In the city the population was spread out with 25.4 percent under the age of 18, 16.4 percent from 18 to 24, 31.2 percent from 25 to 44, 16.7 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.2 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 91.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.6 males. United States is a popular travel destination for visitors and globe trotters from all over the world who appreciate its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, various local cuisine, hospitality and safety.
