Marquette

Marquette city is a charter city of Marquette County in the U.S. state of Michigan. In 2000, the population of the city was 3,286 and an area of 155.8 square kilometers. The city of Marquette is located at the southeast corner of the township, but is politically independent. In the city the population was spread out with 23.0 percent under the age of 18, 9.2 percent from 18 to 24, 27.2 percent from 25 to 44, 27.6 percent from 45 to 64, and 13.0 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 94.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males.
