Marinette is a municipality located in Marinette County, Wisconsin. In 2000, the population of the city was 11,749 and an area of 20.6 square kilometers. It is the county seat of Marinette County. In the city the population is spread out with 23.7 percent under the age of 18, 8.7 percent from 18 to 24, 27.1 percent from 25 to 44, 21.9 percent from 45 to 64, and 18.7 percent who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 89.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.1 males.
