Corvallis
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
Corvallis is a municipality located in central western Oregon, USA. Originally called Marysville, the legislative assembly changed the city's name to Corvallis in 1853, from the Latin phrase cor vallis, meaning heart of the valley. Corvallis was incorporated as a city in 1857. It is the county seat of Benton County and the principal city of the Corvallis, Oregon Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Benton County. In 2006, the population of the city was 53,156 and an area of 35.7 square kilometers.
In the city the population was spread out with 17.7 percent under the age of 18, 28.4 percent from 18 to 24, 27.0 percent from 25 to 44, 16.8 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.1 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 27 years. For every 100 females there were 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.2 males.
A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Corvallis is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
