Burley
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
Burley is a city in Cassia County, with a small portion extending north across the Snake River into neighboring Minidoka County, in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Idaho. The population was 9,316 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Cassia County. Burley is the second largest city in Idaho's Magic Valley region after Twin Falls.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.0 square kilometers. The 10.7 square kilometers of it is land and 0.3 square kilometers of it 2.83 percent is water. In the city the population was spread out with 31.9 percent under the age of 18, 10.0 percent from 18 to 24, 25.5 percent from 25 to 44, 18.1 percent from 45 to 64, and 14.5 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.1 males.
Burley experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in United States.
