It is part of the Danville, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 542 at the 2000 census. Vermilion County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is part of the Danville, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Vermillion County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.8 square kilometers all land. In the village the population was spread out with 27.9 percent under the age of 18, 5.9 percent from 18 to 24, 30.6 percent from 25 to 44, 23.6percent from 45 to 64, and 12.0 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 97.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.9 males. Bismarck is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in United States worth paying a visit while touring the country.
