Berea
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
Berea is a city in Madison County, Kentucky, United States. In 2004, the city population was 12,738. Its most prominent institution is Berea College, which owns a substantial percentage of the city's land. It is also one of the fastest growing towns in Kentucky. By 2010 Berea is on pace to have a population of 17,068 by 2010, a 73 percent increase over the town's census 2000 population of 9,851.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 24.2 square kilometers. In the city the population was spread out with 21.6 percent under the age of 18, 20.5 percent from 18 to 24, 25.7 percent from 25 to 44, 19.5 percent from 45 to 64, and 12.7 percent who were 65 years of age or older.
Berea maintains its history of support for traditional arts and crafts today. The recently built Kentucky Artisan Center, located at exit 77 of I-75 hosts a wide variety of works by Kentucky artisans. In 1922, Churchill Weavers was established by David Carroll Churchill. Churchill Weavers currently sells quilts and other woven goods around the world. Berea is a dry town meaning that no alcohol can be bought or sold in the city, including restaurants. Berea is home to two school districts are Berea Independent and Madison County.
It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
