The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.

Bradenton is a city of around 65,000 people in Manatee County, Florida, United States. It was originally discovered by Hernando De Soto at Shaw's Point in 1539. The city took the name of Dr. Joseph Braden, whose nearby fortlike house was a refuge for early settlers during Native American attacks.

The Sunshine Skyway to the north is an impressive 5.5 mile, cross-bay bridge that soars 250 feet above the bay at its highest point and provides a link to Saint Petersburg and Clearwater. Remnants of the old Skyway bridge have been converted into a first rate fishing pier extending into Tampa Bay from both sides of the bay. Nearby Sarasota continues the beach theme with its own beautiful white beaches. Sarasota offers the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, an upscale shopping complex at Saint Armands Key, Sarasota Jungle Gardens and Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.

Bradenton is located on US 41 between Tampa and Sarasota. The area is surrounded by miles of waterways, both fresh and saltwater. Along the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and into Tampa Bay are over 20 miles of fine Florida beaches out of which many are shaded by tall Australian Pines. The swimming, boating and fishing activities available in Bradenton and the surrounding locations make this a great recreational area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 37.4 square kilometers. 31.4 square kilometers of it is land and 6.0 square kilometers of it is water.

In the city the population was spread out with 21.6 percent under the age of 18, 7.7 percent from 18 to 24, 25.3 percent from 25 to 44, 19.9 percent from 45 to 64, and 25.4 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 90.3 males. Bradenton is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
